We are still in Buenos Aires. We're in the last few days now. Just a quick catch-up as to what we've done.
It's been mostly work and organising the next leg of our travels. We went out for dinner with Leslie and Christi in centro (central Buenos Aires). That was tasty steaks too - and Jack lucky again to be out with us girls.
I also went out to a tango class/show/dinner thing with Leslie one night. That was fun. The class was quite basic and catered for the mass tourism crowd, but I still enjoyed it. We even got certificates printed with our names to say we did a class. Cheesy but fun.
The dinner and show could be likened to a theatre restaurant. Cheesy story (from what my limited Spanish picked up) but good dancing. The food was so-so, typical theatre restaurant quality, but the ice-cream desert was yum.
Hmm, what else happened... oh yes, Fiona came to town! We went to meet her at the airport caught our first Subte (subway train) and bus while doing so. We've been here over two months, it was about time we tried out their transport system. But, of course our bus took longer than anticipated so we turned up late at the airport to greet Fiona. Luckily, she made a friend and hung out with him until we got there.
We took her out for some food at Plaza Serano, a plaza filled with restaurants and not too far from our place. Empanadas and a tasty vegetable platter, mixed with a good atmosphere and warm evening made for a good time.
Well, that's about all that's happened since the last entry. Just a quick one this time. Next entry we'll be on the road in Argentina!
