Well, we’re back in Montevideo again.  We decided to come back into the city for our last night as there wasn’t much out in the middle of Uruguay for us – except this one little town we found that had a mini fun fair going.

After we left Punta Del Diablo we headed to the border town of Chuy and then proceeded northwest.  Shortly after that the landscape changed and the fields with gum trees were replaced with forests of palm trees. The palm tree forest looked cool, but don’t think of it as condensed as the word “forest” makes it sound, but still, seeing that many palms in the same area looked and little surreal. Now this is the different landscape I was after. Alas, it was not to last. Shortly the trees turned back into eucalyptus again.

A little bit of fun we had was at the fore-mentioned fun fair. We were looking for a place to camp in the car as that nights were getting quite chilly now. We found a place with a nice picnic area for us to cook dinner and conveniently located near fun fair grounds. The fair was only small, and we were the only ones using any rides, but it was still amusing. We took a mini ferris-wheel ride and saw the town lights from above.

That was our last night on the road and we returned to Montevideo to make tomorrow’s missions dropping off the car and getting to the airport a bit easier. We returned to the café under our old apartment once more for food and to use their internets.

Thanks for having us Uruguay! – and now it’s onto Brasil! :D
