Well, the wedding was great - the venue at Hawnby was so pretty, the bride gorgeous and the weather WONDERFUL! A beautiful day for a beautiful wedding. Considering that they were to be married in England, Al and Isla were so lucky with the weather... All week leading up to the day of the wedding it was (possibly uncharacteristically) warm and sunny and then as if to remind everyone once again of where we were, the day after the wedding it was cloudy and rainy.
The wedding all went well and at the end of it, our hire van was once again conveniently thrown into another role - this time a curtesy bus and I ended up playing the role of the taxi driver (due to my lack of drinking). Of course, you could probably say that the ride in the back of the van was more akin to riding in a divvy van and when ferrying the likes of James and Russ back to their hotel - it was more like ferrying wild animals to the pound. Russ thought we were kidnapping him! Jack got into a fight with a local who couldn't understand what was going on when we dropped Nick and his girlfriend off and we dodged speeding rally cars the whole way around the thin, dark North Yorkshire roads. Co-incidentally some rally car group had decided that particular night was their race around the Moors night. Quite often our van of drunken hooligans, confused, delayed and probably really frustrated the rally car drivers - especially when we stopped at one of their checkpoints so Russ could throw up in front of everyone.
After traveling down the east regions from North Yorkshire, Jack and I spent the day in Brighton yesterday so Jack could finally see the English sea before he flies back out to Australia. Now back in London, Bron and I are about to hit the road together, Bron taking Jack's place as my travel buddy while I still have the van. I've been eyeing off the Roman Baths in Bath, so I'm thinking that will be our first destination.
