Hmm... it's been a while since my last entry. What have we done?... .We've been quite stuck into work, so not much adventuring during the day - the exciting stuff usually happening at night. Fortunately the night-life in London is awesome - almost overwhelmingly so! One evening, instead of what people would usually do during the daytime, we went for a night walk to the main London tourist sites taking the tube to Big Ben and walking along the Thames to Tower Bridge. We had fun taking long exposure shots and seeing the sites lit up.
We also went to see Pixar's "Up" one evening with Nina. £4 movie night, aww yeah! I was slightly disappointed at first about the popcorn tasting different to the movie popcorn I was used to, but my popcorn greediness soon got over that fact. :)
Recently we decided to take a day off working and go on an outing to the Science Museum. Free entry is always an incentive to put up with kids and school groups running around. I kept losing jack and Nina as I stopped to play with ALL the interactive exhibits. I finally caught up with them at the medical history section where the exhibits were diagrams, models and dioramas of medical procedures from Neanderthal times all the way through to the 1980s.
The next floor up was filled with medical related bits and pieces, from small scale muscle and skeletal models (which Jack call Hobbit Zombies) to false teeth and ancient dental tools. There was so much on this floor we couldn't see it all and were all "Museumed out" at this point. Post museum was Pizza at a pub in Angel, the regular meeting place for Nina and friends. It was a night of good pizza, good drinks and good company.
On Saturday we met up with Joan, a former dancer from the dancing days back in Melbourne. She is still here in the UK after completing her studies at Cambridge, staying on while her boyfriend finished his PhD at Oxford. We had a delicious Malaysian dinner followed by a walking tour of some surrounding areas, and then dessert! Post dessert, Jack joined Nina and friends to attend a "secret rave party" in some derrelict warehouse and I went back to the apartment.
That's about it really. Not much, mainly working with the occasional outing and of course the indulging of the local Caribbean take away near our apartment *mouth waters*. So good... mmmm, jerk chicken. *drool*
